Live SOAR Demo for Appraisers (and Appraisees)

Since we have gone live with the online appraisal forms on the SOAR database, we would like to invite you to join one of our online training sessions (via WebEx), in which we will demo key functions on how the system works and what you will need to do (appraisers as well as appraisees) to prepare for an appraisal interview.

What's WebEx?

If you've not used it before, WebEx is an online conferencing tool.

Basically, at the agreed time you will need to be logged onto a computer, you click on a link which we will provide that allows you to see the live demo, and then you dial into a conference call (0800 number) from your phone.  You will be able to see everything happening on your computer screen and we communicate via the conference call.  All you need is a Computer and Telephone.  Each session shouldn't last more than an hour.

Attendance

These sessions are for appraisers and appraisees alike.  You can attend these sessions in the comfort of your own home or office.

Alternatively, if you have team meetings and can access a computer linked to a projector and conference phone within the meeting, we are happy to hold a session with your team (if appropriate).

Please see below some dates on which we will be holding training sessions, based on a first-come first-served basis.  We can host up to 20 computer links at each session.

The sessions below are for SECONDARY CARE users.  (For Primary Care specific sessions please visit Primary Care SOAR.)

  • 18th April (Thursday) - 10am - 11am
  • 30th April (Tuesday) - 2pm - 3pm
  • 8th May (Wednesday) - 11am - 12pm
  • 30th May (Thursday) - 2pm -3pm (Places available!)
  • 6th June (Thursday) - 2pm - 3pm
  • 27th June (Thursday) - 11am -12pm
  • 2nd July (Tuesday) - 11am - 12pm
  • 23rd July (Tuesday) - 2pm - 3pm

Currently we have scheduled dates up to the end of July. New dates and times will be added in the future.  If you are unable to make the provided dates, you can also access our User Guides and video tutorials on how to use the SOAR Database.

How to book a place?

To book your place for one of the sessions, please email Atia.Khan-Tahir@nes.scot.nhs.uk with the date you wish to attend, and we will email you details of the WebEx session.
